Tags can be used to differentiate projects, custom statuses, or research areas. They are a great way of standardising data management across your workspace.

All tags created within a workspace will only apply to this specific one. If you want other members of your workspace to be able to pick from a list of tags, you'll have to pre-populate them first.

There are no limits to how many tags you can create and associate to content!

Creating new tags:

  • From the left-hand side menu

  1. Navigate to your content of choice (experiment, protocol, resource, inventory or order management)

  2. Click on 'Tags' to reveal more options

  3. Click on 'New Tag'

  4. Enter the name of your tag

  5. Click on 'Create'

  6. Ta-da!

  • From the 'Tag Manager'

  1. Click on the ellipsis

  2. Select 'Tag Manager'

  3. Click on 'New Tag'

  4. Select which type of content between Experiment, Protocol, Resource and Order Requests

  5. Et voilà!

Filtering content using tags:

  • Near the search bar

    1. Click on 'Filter'

    2. Click on 'Tags'

    3. Select the tag of your choice

Labstep team tip: You can use tags across folders. By doing so, Labstep will display the content with the same tags.

  • From the left-hand side menu

    1. Filter by selecting 'Created by'

    2. Filter by selecting 'Tags'

Labstep team tip: Labstep remembers which filters you have applied, so the same filter will be applied when you return to the screen!

Managing Tags:

  • Editing tags

  1. Hover your cursor on the tag

  2. Click on the vertical ellipsis

  3. Select 'Edit'

  4. Edit the name, then click on 'Save'

Labstep team tip: You can also edit your tags from the 'Tag Manager'

  • Deleting tags

  1. Hover your cursor on the tag

  2. Click on 'Delete'

  3. A pop-up will appear to confirm your decision

  4. Click on 'Delete' to confirm

Labstep team tip: Only the workspace owner(s) can delete tags. If you need to delete a tag, ask the owner to do it or make you co-owner of the workspace!

Labstep team tip: You can also delete tags from the 'Tag Manager'.
