We've built Labstep to be an efficient and fast online tool for research. However, sometimes pages on Labstep might load a bit slowly. Here are some factors that could contribute to this...

What can I do if Labstep is running slowly?

  1. Ensure you are on the latest version of Labstep - to force your web browser to update to the latest version simply hold down the shift key and click your web browser refresh button (on mobile simply refresh your web browser several times).

  2. Ensure your device has a strong WiFi or wired connection - Slow wifi can significantly slow Labstep down. To check that you have a good internet connection use an Internet speed checker. Many free ones can easily be found by simply entering 'Free internet speed checker' into a search engine.

  3. Clear the cache on your web browser - If you cache is full it can slow your Labstep down. Unsure how to empty your cache? click here

  4. Use Chrome as your web browser - Although we try to support most web browsers the best Labstep experience can be found by using Google chrome and updating it to the latest version.

  5. Swap device - Labstep will work on almost any mobile or desktop device. However devices with low end microprocessors may struggle. It is recommend that you use a mobile device (iOS or Android) with at least an octa-core processor.

I've tried all the suggestions but Labstep is still slow?

  1. Report slowness to Labstep customer support as soon as possible via the in-app chat or by emailing info@labstep.com.

  2. State the version of the operating system (e.g. Windows 10 version 1903) and the version of the web browser you are using (e.g. Google Chrome Version 76.0.3809.132).

  3. State the exact time(s) you experienced slowness.

  4. Provide the most specific description of the slowness you have experienced as possible e.g. are all pages loading slowly? Is a single specific page loading slowing? Are pages loading fine but interacting with certain elements such as tables is slow? etc.

If you are able to provide all this info it makes it much easier for us to diagnose and resolve the issue. So thank you in advance!
