Microsoft Office <> Labstep

From presenting findings in Power Point to storing data in Excel, it is likely that you will interact with at least one Microsoft Office file during your research project.

You can now view Microsoft office files within Labstep. File types that we support: '.ppt', '.pptx', '.doc',, '.docx',, '.xls', and '.xlsx').

Share with edit permission

You can now set the permissions for content before you share. Remember, as owner, it is still possible to edit the permission or revoke access to content after it has been shared.

Add references to your protocols

Keep track of all the relevant literature used to create your protocols by adding references. Simply, add your DOI and we do the rest!

Resources can be added or created in results and notes

During an experiment, it is likely that you will create new or secondary resources. These resources are often described in the results. In addition to a description, we believe making it easy to link to a Labstep resource in the results would be much more useful! This functionality is also available for notes

Add multiple resources into a protocol

We've made it easier for you to add your resources to the 'Materials' section of your protocols! You can now import multiple resources into a protocol.

Import resources into groups

Resources such as reagents and equipment are often shared amongst a project or group. It is possible to import a multiple resources and share with a project. This can be done from within the project resource page.

Other fixes/additions:

  • Copying and pasting tables directly into the protocol is fixed and is back.

  • You can now upload SnapGene files into the protocol.

  • You now have three help options: Live chat, Help centre and Ask community.

  •  Protocols attached to experiment workflow are now viewable with view permission.

  • Profile picture upload bug resolved.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Content shared into groups is now editable by default.
