ChemDraw is a leading chemical sketcher software, used to draw chemical structures and reactions. This article will take you through the process of installing and using the basic Labstep Chemdraw Add-in.
- From ChemDraw, save molecular structures as a Labstep resource and save reaction schemas as a new notebook experiment entry.
- Open and edit ChemDraw files in the Labstep Molecular Editor. Save files to an inventory resource or attach to an experiment entry.
You must install ChemOffice Professional 17.1 or above to install and run the add-in.
Mac OS X
You must install ChemDraw Professional 17.1 or above to install and run the add-in.
To install the add-in, launch ChemDraw, go to Add-ins > Add-in Manager... to open the Add-in Manager, and click the Install button. Navigate to the labstep.chemdrawaddin file.
Select 'Labstep' from the 'Add-ins' menu.
Login to your Labstep account
Select chemicals on the canvas. A preview of selected content should appear in the Add-in window.
Give it a name and click 'Send to Labstep'. If the upload is successful you should receive a confirmation.
Uploaded chemicals can be added to experiments in the same way as Folder Watcher Files (see here). Alternatively, you can copy your structure as a MOL string and paste it directly into our integrated Molecular Editor
