🚀 Introduction to Labstep

Welcome to Labstep! Labstep is a web application that helps you manage your research data. With Labstep, you can easily store data, track samples and reagents, create protocols, and collaborate with other researchers.

In this lesson, you'll learn the first steps to getting started with Labstep. We will cover what Labstep is, how it can help you with your research data, and how to create an account and log in to the platform.

What is Labstep?

Labstep is a progressive web application (PWA) that allows scientists and researchers to store and manage data, track samples and reagents, create protocols, and collaborate with other scientists. It comprises 5 modules: Experiments, Protocol Library, Inventory, Order Management and Instruments & Devices.

Labstep helps organise your research data by providing a secure and easy-to-use platform with advanced search capabilities and customisable views for different lab roles.

You can also easily share data and protocols with colleagues with existing Labstep accounts or invite them to join your Organisation.

🙋 Getting Help

If you need help using the Labstep platform, several resources are available. Firstly, you can visit the Labstep Help Centre, which contains various articles and guides on using the platform's different features. You can also contact our Support team via our in-app chat service or email info@labstep.com. Additionally, depending on your subscription type, you can access premium and tailored support via your Account Manager.

Labstep Help Centre

Our Help Centre is available 24/7 and contains many articles, guides and videos to help you navigate the platform.

How to access it?

You can find our Help Centre by navigating to https://help.labstep.com or clicking on the blue dot at the bottom right-hand side of your screen and navigating to "Help".

In-app Chat Service & Email

Our Support team is available to help with all your more complex questions or if you still need help after consulting our Help Centre. You can also use the in-app chat to share feedback or request new features!

Please note that we encourage self-serve first so you can get an answer quickly. However, if you cannot find the answers you're looking for in the Help Centre, a bubble will appear to send a message to the Support team.

When you type your message, please make sure to provide as much detail as possible. For example, if it's a bug report, include the URLs of the entity affected and the date/time when you first noticed it occurring. Please feel free also to add any other information you think is relevant.

Once your ticket is submitted, a team member will aim to reply within 2-3 working days, depending on the nature of your ticket and the volume of incoming queries. If you benefit from Premium support, the team will respond within one working day.

How to access it?

Like the Help Centre, you can use our in-app chat service by clicking on the blue dot at the bottom right-hand side of your screen and then "Send us a message". To view the history of your messages, navigate to "Messages".

If you'd prefer to email us instead, please feel free to do so at info@labstep.com. We'll get back to you within 3 working days.

Premium Support

In addition to the resources above, Labstep also offers a range of training and consultancy services for organisations that require more personalised assistance. These services can be tailored to meet your team's specific needs and can include onboarding sessions, data migration, and custom feature development.

How to access it?

This feature is only available to Academic+, Pro and Enterprise users. If you need premium support like technical, consultancy or implementation support, please contact your Account Manager via the in-app chat or here. Depending on your contract, this might require an additional fee.

Please remember that if your question is not billing, legal, consultancy or implementation related, a Support team member will answer you instead of your Account Manager. You will still benefit from fast-track support.
